Legal Procurement Advisor The candidate will have an ability to understand and negotiate standard procurement agreements, provide advice regarding regulatory compliance and legal requirements that pertain to procurement agreements, participate in procurement negotiations, assure that the desired business and legal terms and conditions are captured and contained in the agreement, ensure that the agreements appropriately address firm s risk tolerances, work closely with internal clients to assure business needs are met and provide legal counsel primarily to associate procurement strategists. Will acts as knowledgeable business partner by providing competent and effective legal advice and support and provide procurement legal contract support for assigned clients with focus on obtaining business objectives while adequately addressing associated risks. Perform legal research involving procurement issues and provide prompt legal counsel primarily to associate procurement strategists. Participate in the contract negotiation process and identify and perform critical analysis of significant legal issues involving the procurement of goods and/or services. Work with other legal professionals, including those in the Key legal department and outside counsel and identify risk issues and integrate the appropriate language into the agreement to mitigate such risk. Collaborate with compliance and risk groups to identify, assess, and mitigate risk and elevate critical risk issues to line of business senior management as appropriate. Develop and maintain strong collaborative and collegial relationships with clients, procurment and law group colleagues and develop and maintain collaborative and collegial relationships with outside attorneys and industry representatives. Treat co-workers, clients, and external contacts with professionalism and respect and participate in project teams and support other lines of business as requested. The candidate must have a Juris Doctorate degree and a License to practice law and in good standing. Must have 2-4 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in researching, drafting, and negotiating legal agreements is required. Basic knowledge of financial services industry and regulatory environment and knowledge of commercial law and procurement/supply chain processes is needed.
