Associate General Counsel The candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and recommendations for initiatives and projects developed in response to clients overall objectives and needs. Focus of work is on large scale and/or high financial level projects with broad department and/or organizational impact and moderate level of risk. Applies knowledge of one or more legal specialties with sound business acumen and knowledge of the business goals and objectives as they relate to the legal matter at hand. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate legal projects. Contributes to overall results of an SBU or CEE unit and/or department. Uses professional legal concepts and principles to contribute to development of company s concepts and principles. May possess deep technical knowledge or broader scope of knowledge. Provides instructions to junior members of the department and concise, timely briefings to senior level business and legal management. Routinely works on complex problems in which analysis of situations and/or facts require an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Serves as a resource for other attorneys and paralegals as well as business clients instructing and advising on technical and tactical issues. Assesses and mitigates risk. Reports to management any identified business exposure and associated risks as well as mitigation techniques being utilized.

The candidate should have JD degree with 8-12 years of experience, including prior private practice experience within a large law firm and/or with a government agency (HHS or DOD, preferred). Must have significant experience working for, or cooperating with, the Department of Justice (and/or federal agency inspectors general) on fraud-related matters, specifically in the health care and/or government contract context. Should have significant experience developing cases for litigation; first-chair work on grand jury hearings, criminal trials, civil discovery, depositions, trials and/or administrative hearings strongly preferred. Must have experience working with or deploying anti-fraud analytics, including predictive analytics and modeling components. Significant experience drafting policies and procedures related to federal program and procurement integrity issues, including the False Claims Act and the Procurement Integrity Act, and related Federal laws and regulations are needed. Previous in-house experience with a health care company or government contractor, including managing and conducting internal investigations; experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation's mandatory disclosure rule strongly preferred.
