Director Federal Affairs The candidate will serve as an advocate for the company's policies and objectives in matters before the US Congress, federal agencies and the Administration. Will report to the VP of Government Affairs and is externally focused, dedicated to relationship building and positioning of the company before government officials. Analyzing and monitoring specific legislative and regulatory activities and proposals. Identifying the potential impact of such proposals on the company and involvement in the development and implementation of appropriate strategies and campaigns that support company objectives. Represent the company in trade organizations and other coalitions on specific issues of interest. Make presentations, on federal government topics to T-Mobile leadership and other employees. Collect and analyze information on federal laws and programs (with emphasis on ensuring that policy agenda is aligned with business ops objectives). Attend political and charitable fundraisers. Help drive PAC participation by employees and campaign strategies. Manage consultant base where appropriate.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Political science, public policy or similar field. Master degree/ JD preferred. 12+ years of political experience with a proven track record. Be experienced and successful team player and comfortable working in fluid environment. Experience in a national organization, corporate lobbying office or as Congressional staff. Professional experience working on federal legislative and regulatory issues related to wireless/telecom industry. Analytical skills, excellent judgment, ability to meet short deadlines, outstanding oral presentation skills and writing ability, specifically in writing for presentations, newsletter articles and membership materials. Excellent persuasive interpersonal skills. Ability to persuasively communicate complex concepts and programs at the highest level of government and business. Good judgment, strong interpersonal communications, innovative problem solving and decision making skills. Excellent attention to details, meeting deadlines and following through on commitments. Must be able to determine and support multiple priorities; set clear deliverables; make informed decisions fast; monitor results and develop contingency plans; deliver for both short and long term results.
