Assistant General Counsel - Litigation Duties : Candidate serves as a member of the Enterprise Litigation Team handling litigation across organisation s five-state area. Setting and leading litigation strategy, counseling clients proactively on, pre-litigation matters and legal risk assessment, and working with paraprofessional and operations staff to develop cases.

Requirements : Law degree from accredited law school and completion of trial advocacy program coursework. 5+ years experience as a practicing litigation attorney at a law firm with substantive experience handling complex civil litigation, such as class actions and MDLs, and proactive strategies for driving results over the entire lifecycle of a litigation matter, including preservation, early case assessment, budgeting, motion practice, eDiscovery, trial, ADR, appeals and case resolution strategy. Admittance to the Texas bar. Experience in managing client relations/communications. Meaningful experience in engaging in early case assessment models and with developing and executing case strategy. Demonstrated ability to think strategically, develop creative recommendations and deliver quality and timely legal services. Demonstrated ability to function as a self-starter and value-add contributor in a fast-paced practice. Demonstrated ability to deliver creative, business-focused solutions and/or alternatives to litigation and other disputes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to operating in a strong team environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills, along with ability to manage shifting priorities and demands. Experience in health care and/or insurance litigation and/or complex financial litigation and/or litigation for other highly regulated industries. Experience handling regulatory inquiries or investigations and/or internal investigations. Substantive trial experience, preferably with some first or second chair responsibility. Experience supervising paralegals and other support staff work. In-house experience, including experience dealing directly with senior management and directly managing outside counsel and budgets.
