Regulatory Risk Consultant Duties: Effectively utilizes internal systems and external resources to analyze and assess potential and emerging consumer-oriented and regulatory risks. Engaging and communicating with regulators, trade associations, and industry personnel on current and emerging consumer-oriented regulatory matters. Identifying and coordinating appropriate internal stakeholders for purposes of responding to federal regulatory proposals and other initiatives. Participating on trade association committees and working groups. Drafting comment letters in response to regulatory proposals. Preparing briefing documents, reports, and other materials on regulatory issues for senior management. Analyzing enforcement actions and, when appropriate, working with internal stakeholders to reduce regulatory and supervisory risks identified in these actions. Assisting in the design/development of policies, procedures, and systems in order to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Providing technical consulting and guidance on consumer-oriented regulatory matters.

Qualifications: JD Degree. 5+ years related work experience in the financial services industry. Preferred: Considerable knowledge of banking laws and regulations. Working knowledge of consumer-oriented bank products and services, including the laws and rules that govern them. Significant contacts with bank regulatory agencies, trade associations, and peer banks. Ability to network effectively with others in the financial services industry. Ability to research and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong organization, analytical, and project management skills. Strong presentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in small-group, fast-paced environment. Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate laws and regulations pertaining to U.S. Bank consumer-oriented products and services.
