Manager, Financial Services Counsel The candidate will assist on a broad range of consumer regulatory matters related to company's Home Loans business, as a member of the Financial Services team in company's Legal Department. Will review internal policies and procedures and advise the Home Loan servicing business on best practices, policies and procedures. Provide advice and guidance on applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations relevant to consumer lending and servicing. Analyze new federal, state and local laws for applicability and impact to the Home Loans servicing line of business. Coordinate implementation of new laws with compliance, risk and with business partners. Monitor pending regulatory developments in coordination with the Policy Affairs Group and provide feedback and comment as appropriate on significant legislation that may affect the line of business. Support new business initiatives, services, and other innovations in the core servicing and loss mitigation functions. Work with in-house litigators on related litigation matters. The candidate should have a J.D. degree and be a member to a State Bar. Must have 2+ years of law firm experience or 2+ years of government experience or 2+ years of in-house legal department work experience. Should also have 2+ years of experience working with consumer regulatory matters. Should preferably have 4+ years of experience in-house legal department or 4+ years of experience in a law firm. Should preferably have 4+ years of experience working on consumer regulatory matters, with an emphasis on home loans or 4+ years of experience working on home loans regulations. Exceptional research and writing skills are needed. Some level of industry knowledge and expertise and experience with consumer regulatory requirements related to servicing secured consumer residential real estate loans including RESPA, TILA, FDCPA, ECOA and state and federal consumer protection laws is needed.
