Employment Attorney The candidate is responsible for assisting the General Counsel and Human Resources department in managing and handling a wide variety of labor and employment related matters for the Company on a global basis. Primary responsibilities will be in the areas of drafting, reviewing and negotiating employment offer letters, separation agreements, consulting contracts and other employment-related agreements, and maintaining templates of such documents. Other responsibilities include counseling on training, employee disciplinary actions, terminations, non-compete agreements and other restrictive covenants, benefits matters, corporate transactions, workplace investigations, risk avoidance measures, employee-related mediations, discrimination/harassment claims, FMLA and other protected leaves, wage and hour issues, workplace accommodations, executive compensation, hiring practices, data privacy, and the drafting and reviewing of policies and handbooks. Note: The Company s expectation is that the attorney will work a reduced, but flexible, schedule (approximately 25 hours per week) Must possess JD degree from top U.S. law school with distinction having 5-10 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in a law firm or in-house legal department, with a consistent focus on employment law, including both counseling and litigation. Experience working with corporate and other legal entities, and preferably with professional services firms, such as investment banking, law, management consulting or accounting. Licensed to practice law in one or more states of the U.S. Preferably located in Los Angeles, CA. Excellent drafting and contract negotiation skills. Ability to use good judgment when interacting with outside and inside contacts and performing job functions. Confidence and ability to act as both a business and legal advisor.
