Associate Counsel - Employment Compliance, Process & Projects The candidate will provide compliance support to the Company s HR departments, including the payroll, recruitment, leave of absence, compensation, training, I-9, background check, and employee relations teams. Draft, review, and/or revise Company policies and procedures, including Handbook and Manager manuals. Develop and deliver training related to areas of responsibility. Defend Department of Homeland Security I-9 audits and state-law equivalent I-9 and E-Verify audits. Oversee defense of Service Contract Act and local living wage audits. Manage relationship and budget for outside counsel on various matters where support is needed. Oversee Company s employment related agreements, including Employment Agreements, Restrictive Covenant Agreements, and Separation Agreements. Assist in management of paralegals and law student interns as needed. Stay abreast of all existing, new, and proposed legislation related to employment matters at the federal, state and local levels (e.g., ADA, FMLA, FLSA, immigration reform and control, etc.).

The candidate should have Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school with accompanying state licensure. Must have 2+ years of experience. Lexis or Westlaw experience preferred. Excellent foundational knowledge of employment laws, rules, regulations and judicial precedent involved in the essential job duties described above. Proven ability and successes in the following: proactively seeking and executing creative solutions, providing strong customer service, and negotiating, partnering and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues. Ability to read, analyze and interpret laws, rules and regulations, legal documents, and financial and other reports, with expertise in the principles, practices, laws and regulations associated with employee relations. Ability to anticipate, recognize and define problems from both a legal and overall corporate perspective, collect data, establish facts, and draw logical and valid conclusions based on sound legal and business judgment. Excellent writing, research, technical, communication, organizational, data analysis and decision-making skills required. Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills are must SAP and CounselLink experience preferred.
