Senior Corporate Counsel Trademarks The candidate will play a key role in the strategy, prosecution, enforcement, management and licensing of the company s U.S. and international trademark portfolio as well as support and grow the relationship between the company s legal and marketing teams. Collaborate with management, branding and legal teams to identify the most strategic areas for trademark protection and brand growth. Develop and manage trademark clearance and prosecution strategy worldwide. Drive trademark enforcement and brand protection strategies, including trademark opposition and cancellation actions and domain name proceedings. Draft, review and negotiate trademark and brand-related licenses and agreements while fostering a close relationship with global marketing, promotions, event and partner teams. Lead internal education, training and guideline development on trademark, marketing and advertising topics. Collaborate with and manage outside counsel. A JD degree with a strong academic record from an accredited law school required. Current membership in a state bar in good standing required. 5+ years of relevant substantive trademark and brand enforcement experience across all aspects of growing, maintaining and protecting a trademark portfolio, preferably with in-house experience required. Experience independently drafting and negotiating trademark and marketing related agreements, terms of use, licenses and event and promotions terms required. Knowledge of copyright law and domain name enforcement tools and strategy required. Experience mitigating privacy and data security risk in the marketing context required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster trust, respect, and collaboration with internal clients required.
