Senior Data Privacy Attorney Duties: Will report to s Ethics and Compliance Officer, and will advise clients on a wide variety of matters pertaining to data privacy law across the globe. Will also interact directly with business counsel and solution development teams to provide subject matter expertise related to solution offerings, and with Human Resources and employment counsel to advise on employee data protection issues. Hands-on, fast paced position ideally suited for an entrepreneurial, business-minded attorney with a desire to help build a world-class data protection program and to support the governance of ethics and compliance program throughout the world. Providing practical, action-oriented legal advice on privacy and cyber-security law, including: Advising Marketing, Product Development and Solution Management on privacy issues related to product and services offerings, including design for privacy. Advising Human Resources on privacy in the workplace. Analyzing and applying US Federal and State laws, and from time to time the laws of other countries, to business. Working knowledge of international privacy law requirements and frameworks (e.g. GDPR, APEC, etc.). Drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial agreements containing privacy and security clauses, with customers, suppliers and partners. Providing proactive guidance and support on various new compliance requirements. Drafting policies and procedures related to data privacy and data protection. Developing and providing training on subjects related to data privacy and data protection. Qualifications: 5-8 years with an in-house legal team and/or large commercial law firm (a history in both environments is preferred), with experience in regulatory and policy advice in the areas of data protection and privacy law. Software or IT industry experience. Experience with US regulators (e.g. FTC, FFIEC) a plus. Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. A passion for providing unparalleled client service. Is highly motivated and proactive. Is able to work independently and manage multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Has solid business judgment and is able to develop sound practical solutions to complex legal and commercial issues. Has excellent interpersonal skills and can interact well with clients and with other lawyers. Must have the highest level of integrity and business ethics.
