Corporate Counsel, Privacy and Information Policy The candidate will assist the Senior Counsel with the provision of day-to-day advice and counsel in all aspects of privacy and information policy, and other related compliance areas. A portion of the work will include drafting and negotiating privacy, security, and records management contract provisions in collaboration with other members of firm's s legal department mitigate risk. Understand full scope of a corporate privacy and information security compliance program, including data flows, risk assessment, and vendor management. Assist in the continued development and improvement of a corporate privacy policy including legal requirements, industry standards, and best practices. Oversee training to facilitate and promote privacy, records management and ediscovery awareness within the enterprise. Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and provisions relating to privacy, e-discovery, and records management. Provide legal and strategic business advice to partners across the organization to drive compliance with internal policies, stated and federal privacy and information management laws, and industry best practices. Identify areas of potential privacy vulnerability/risk at all levels (from single request to enterprise) and propose solutions/corrective action plans to prevent/mitigate/resolve such risks. Respond to customer, partner, vendor, third party, and consumer privacy and compliance inquiries. Monitor, research, analyze, and provide advice on industry trends, existing, proposed, and new laws, and policies regarding impact to the company. Other responsibilities as needed.

The candidate should have JD degree from an ABA accredited law school, admitted to practice law in at least one State, and outstanding academic credentials (if not licensed in Minnesota must be willing to become licensed in Minnesota). Must have 5+ years of legal practice (whether in-house or private practice). Must have 3+ years of practice in privacy and 5+ years of demonstrated work experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated contract provisions relating to privacy, information security, and records management, whether in private practice or as in-house counsel. Privacy certification (CIPP/US, CIPM, and/or CIPT) is preferred. Experience in e-discovery and records management is highly preferred and preference will be given to candidates with this experience.
