Senior Counsel, Litigation The candidate will perform legal assignments related to litigation matters for the company. Perform varied and complex legal assignments and dispenses legal advice to company management and personnel. Requires hands-on litigation experience, including drafting pleadings, motion practice, preparing witnesses as well as deposition and some trial experience. Actively manages and partners with outside counsel on litigation matters. Investigate matters in preparation for Litigation. Rebuild and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Keeps abreast of issues and developments in specialty areas by reading articles, attending professional conferences and conferring with professional experts. Juris Doctorate degree required. Current license to practice law in Texas or applicable states in which company has operations required. 8 10 years of experience with a major law firm or corporation and litigation experience required. Effective oral and written communication skills with ability to present to and influence others required. Strong: problem solving skills with the ability to recommend effective solutions; negotiation skills required. Skill in researching and analyzing facts and legal issues required. Ability: to provide legal advice, counsel, and guidance for the most complex circumstances; to lead critical and high profile projects; to lead and guide others; to develop and maintain strong working relationships and build credibility with assigned customers required.
