Counsel I, Compliance Job The candidate provides legal advice and counsel to a variety of areas, with a focus on health care compliance in support of multiple businesses. As Compliance Counsel will provide practical, sound legal advice and solutions to business clients on a broad spectrum of matters, with a focus on health care compliance in support of multiple business units. Will coordinate with other Legal department personnel to provide seamless support to the business. Responsibilities include: Working closely with senior counsel, advises business on various legal matters, with a focus on health care compliance. Provides legal advice and counsel to company personnel in diverse matters by assisting, advising, investigating, researching and resolving legal matters within company policies to ensure that company personnel are aware of and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, including health care fraud and abuse. Actively work with business leaders to develop creative and compliant alternatives and solutions in diverse matters by assisting, advising, investigating, researching and resolving legal matters within corporate legal policies. Advise on business transactions, including preparation, review and negotiation of agreements in a variety of areas, including supply, distribution, consulting, non-disclosure, and research.Develop and provide training to Company's employees on relevant legal topics. Collaborate with Global Compliance on the content and implementation of various Company policies and procedures, as well as sales force interactions with health care providers and patients. Keep current on relevant legislative issues, laws, decisions, and regulations affecting the medical device industry May provide general direction to managers, exempt specialists and non-exempt support in various areas, groups and/or operations. Collaborates with team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.

The candidate should have J.D. Must be admitted to the Bar in good standing. Should have 3-5 years of experience, preferably with experience working with medical products, pharma or healthcare industry. Must have experience counseling business clients in corporate setting. Must have effective written and oral communication abilities and solid legal research and writing skills. Should have good judgment and strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Preferred background in compliance or ethics functions in a corporate law firm and/or relevant in-house experience. Must have ability to lead a cross-functional program, preferably with global applicability. Demonstrated ability to gain commitment across multiple or global groups is preferred. Superior communication, decision-making and problem solving skills, with demonstrated leadership and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and decision makers at various levels is desired. Advanced skills in critical thinking, reasoning, problem solving, decision making and risk assessing is preferred. Must be able to synthesize information from a wide range of sources. Superior organization, facilitation, collaboration and presentation skills is preferred.
