Attorney Transactional Insurance/Reinsurance Duties: Provide legal and contract wording support for our insurance and reinsurance business segments on a worldwide basis. Review the terms of new and renewal reinsurance and other ancillary contracts, verify agreed-upon terms, ensure that mandatory clauses are incorporated, revise or amend contracts, correspond with internal stakeholders, brokers and others. Draft contracts and ancillary agreements, to include trusts, confidentiality agreements, indemnification and hold harmless agreements, etc. Advise on related areas of legal, regulatory and business issues with respect to Everest s domestic and international insurance and reinsurance business including advice with respect to contracts, trade sanctions and (re)insurance laws and regulations. Work with underwriting teams and product development in support of unique and various reinsurance-driven transactions. Work with various other departments in support of insurance and reinsurance operations (i.e., Underwriting, Claim, Law). Handle other legal and/or contractual matters as needed. Work on special projects as needed. Qualifications: Recent law school graduates (i.e., within the last 3 years). Must be admitted to and a member in good standing of the Bar of any US jurisdiction. Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business or Math is strongly preferred; an MBA is a big plus. Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, possessing common sense, good judgment, inquisitive and solution-oriented attitude toward legal/ contract issues. Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Must be able to approach complex contractual issues with a sense of entrepreneurialism. Self-motivated with an ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects/priorities in a fast-paced environment. Interest and desire to grow within a transactional law environment. Good quantitative skills are needed, as well as an understanding of the basics of finance. Knowledge of insurance/ reinsurance/ structured finance a plus. Fluency in Portuguese, German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, or French a plus. Excellent communication and analytical skills.
