Corporate Counsel The candidate will support commercial transactions and help drive intellectual property business development and collaboration opportunities. Draft and negotiate various license agreements, collaboration and research related agreements; monitor compliance of requirements under such agreements. Review invention disclosures, portfolio analyses; work with inventors and patent committee to facilitate decisions and coordinate with counsel to file approved patents. Work with the executive team to provide practical advice on intellectual property issues when necessary. Develop and implement policies and procedures relating to IP as needed. Develop excellent relationships with all operational teams and ensure that intellectual property needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. Manage intellectual property litigation when necessary and provide periodic training to business on various IP topics. Must have 4-8 years of relevant experience in licensing contracts. Relevant industry experience (e.g., medical device, pharmaceuticals, etc.) or in highly regulated environments is strongly preferred; Understanding of the rules, regulations and procedures of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in pre and post grant procedures preferred. Experience with litigation support, including developing and implementing IP strategies, and conducting infringement investigations and initial analyses, desirable. J.D. degree required.
