Corporate Counsel - Healthcare The candidate will provide analysis and counsel for a wide range of legal matters, including advising on healthcare law, employment law, regulation interpretation, contract creation, negotiations, and litigation. Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the company. Will assist in management of employment related and other disputes and litigation, with diligent organization and record keeping related to multiple matters simultaneously. Develop and [provide guidance regarding company policy and position on legal issues. Provide direct counsel on matters of legal significance to the company. These may include protecting intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, financial structuring, nondisclosure agreements, outsourcing agreements, business strategic planning, and other legal matters. Provide leadership and strategy as the legal team represents the company in various legal proceedings, prepares legal pleadings, motions, discovery, and stipulations. Manage legal relationships with business units and outside counsel. The candidate should have Bachelors Degree and a JD Degree from a top tier ABA accredited law school with excellent academic performance required. Must have admission to a State Bar with an active membership in good standing. Texas Bar admission preferred. Must have 5+ years of experience as a licensed, practicing attorney with strong corporate and healthcare law experience. Licensed to practice in Texas or licensed in another U.S. state with eligibility to work as in-house counsel in Texas is required. Must be proficient in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlook) programs. Must have the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and react well under pressure. Must have excellent telephone/communication/professional skills.
