Counsel, Privacy and Commercial The candidate will be responsible for privacy and security matters both internally and in connection with customer and vendor relationships. Will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Security and Operations teams. Serve as legal lead for privacy and data security matters. Support negotiation of inbound and outbound software, SaaS and other commercial contracts, with emphasis on privacy and security terms. In collaboration with members of the security team, counsel, educate and train employees on corporate policies and compliance programs. Monitor internal practices and work cross- functionally to modify as necessary to ensure ongoing compliance. Participate in internal and vendor privacy/security risk assessments. Support data mapping, classification, anonymization, pseudonymization and related data management/compliance initiatives. Participate in cross-team projects related to data protection and privacy by design and default. Perform other legal work as needed our legal team is growing, but small, so everyone is expected to pitch-in as needed out of their usual domains. Must have 3+ years practicing in data privacy and security, with a focus on international data privacy, cloud security and technology transactions. Should have strong understanding of the EU/Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks, Data Protection Directive, GDPR, and APEC CBPR Framework. Demonstrated experience in project management and/or compliance functions is required.
