Employment Counsel The candidate will be partnering closely with our human resources team to provide subject matter knowledge of a broad range of employment issues, including wage and hour, labor, recruiting and hiring, employee management, and HR best practices; Drafting and negotiating a variety of employment-related agreements and policies such as offer letters, contractor agreements, vendor agreements, and more; Helping to develop and implement scalable self-service tools and processes for the HR team as the company grows; Overseeing employment and workers compensation matters, including litigation and government agency investigations; Collaborating with cross-functional teams to structure employment law compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and managing outside counsel; Thinking ahead, seeing around corners, and helping to prepare for employment issues that may arise in the future.

The candidate should have J.D. degree from a top-tier law school and membership with at least one state bar (preferably California). Should have 4-6 years of related experience working on both litigation and counseling matters dealing with employment law; prior in-house experience preferred; Deep experience with employment laws in multiple states (including California) and across a wide range of issues. Should have proven track record of providing pragmatic and reasoned advice to HR and business partners; Willingness to roll up your sleeves, get into the legal nitty gritty, and the ability to exercise sound judgment when approaching problems without clear answers.
