Senior Corporate Counsel, Immigration The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Tesla has a legally compliant immigration program and will be tasked with providing advice and compliance guidance for complex immigration matters, provide strategic direction for immigration processes. Will serve as a support function to the HR organization s immigration processing operation. Report to the Deputy General Counsel for Employment and Immigration. Provide strategic guidance to Human Resources to ensure Tesla can actively pursue talent worldwide. Guide and advise HR in the design and implementation of a comprehensive global immigration compliance program. Conduct routine audits of all immigration programs and processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Prepare leadership reports outlining risk areas, compliance obstacles, and opportunities for improvement. Liaise with external counsel to ensure compliance with all immigration regulations. Provide legal advice related to the preparation of U.S. employment-based immigration petitions, including B-1 / ESTA; H-1B, H2-B, H-4, TN, O-1, L-1, AOS/I-140 and other visas. Guide and advise HR in the development and implementation of immigration related policies. Monitor compliance of immigration policies. Ensure compliance with right to work laws (Global), including I-9 and E-Verify (US). Regularly provide information and advice to Tesla leaders, employees and foreign nationals on immigration practices and procedures. Provide strategic guidance and support for Tesla s global expansion, including Mergers and Acquisitions and New Markets Teams. Advise on business traveler compliance requirements. Develop company-wide training and awareness program around immigration compliance and policy requirements. Responsible for the supervision and management of another immigration attorney.

The candidate should have JD degree and admission in at least one U.S. state bar jurisdiction. Should have strong, in-depth knowledge of U.S. employment based immigration law. Experience with and knowledge of global immigration law is a plus. Should have 10+ years of Immigration law practice experience preferred, with 2+ years of In-house experience. Experience in a compliance-monitoring role is a plus. Should have strong legal writing and drafting skills. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must. Must be experienced professional with great relationship skills. Must have solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Immigration database software.
