Vice President - Corporate Counsel

Vice President - Corporate Counsel The candidate will be responsible for drafting a variety of agreements, including consulting, confidentiality, letters of intent, etc., in an accurate and timely fashion, and coordinating the review of these agreements with US corporate and international attorneys, as needed. Analyzing and tracking foreign and domestic emerging legislative or regulatory issues, and escalating critical issues when appropriate. Assisting with managing litigation and litigation reserves of the international insurance operations. Responding to general inquiries and requests received from US corporate and international clients, attorneys, etc. Drafting and/or executing US and foreign board and corporate documents, including notices, agendas, minutes, and resolutions. Managing, implementing, and tracking significant projects, including establishing new start-up operations, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory matters, labor matters, compliance matters, trademark infringement, and other special projects. Effectively managing and overseeing utilization of outside law firms to provide cost-effective legal services. Performing legal research and prepare written memoranda, as needed.

The candidate must have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school. Should have 7+ years of legal experience, including training at a major national law firm. Experience with the insurance and financial services industry is highly desirable. Must have experience with life insurance regulatory and/or transactions. Experience with reinsurance transactions is preferred.
