Associate Counsel - Litigation Real Estate The candidate will be responsible for assisting the General Counsel Americas Region in efforts to ensure that the operations of the company in the Americas Region comply with all legal requirements and that the company follows the highest ethical practices and standards in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and laws. Additionally, assist with the management and resolution of litigation and claims, with a focus on labor and employment matters. Work with General Counsel and senior leaders to develop, implement, communicate, and enforce organizational policies that will deliver outcomes and results that are ethically sound and legally compliant. Assist General Counsel with the review and monitoring activities of business units to ensure compliance with established organization policies and legal requirements of the appropriate jurisdiction. Work with various functional departments from each business unit to gather information and appropriate metrics for reporting. Provide strategic counsel regarding potential risks and areas for improvement. Look to automate and improve management's responses to legal questions raised or required to be reported. Lead in the maintenance of a database program to track legal issues, to document violations, etc., with the goal of maintaining real time information in order to respond to specific inquiries in RFP s, RFQ s, or other tender documents, experiential reporting or required disclosures. Develop an understanding of the applicable requirements of governmental agencies, laws, statutes, rules and regulations; stay abreast of ethical and governance trends and pending regulations. Ensure that an effective communication protocol is established for compliance and ethics policies and procedures, and assist with any necessary training and guidance. Assist in the management of claims and litigation, with a focus on labor and employment issues. Collaborate with Human Resources on relevant policies and HR compliance related initiatives and issues. Assist in the investigation of reports and other indications of possible misconduct, and recommend appropriate corrective action. Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited school and 6+ years of legal experience required. Prior relevant legal experience in compliance and litigation is required and work in the construction industry is highly preferred. Experience in government contracting and working with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) a plus. Excellent oral presentation and written skills required.
