Corporate Counsel Duties" Provides legal counsel, researches and prepares opinions on legal questions, documents and reports, prepares and conducts prosecution and defense of administrative, legal or regulatory proceedings consistent with level of experience and under direct supervision.Reviews various documents, materials, events and problems to identify potential legal issues and makes oral and written recommendations outlining solutions which minimize the legal exposure to the company. Prepares filings and reports to governmental agencies consistent with the level of experience. Reviews advertisements, press releases and other printed material to identify potential legal issues. Reviews current developments in the industry and notifies the affected business units of potential impact. Apprises the Associate General Counsels verbally and in writing of activities and problems within assigned area of responsibility; refers matters beyond limits of authority and expertise to the General Counsel for direction. Provides legal counsel to all levels of management as well as general staff. Upholds Company Code of Business Conduct at all times. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited law school. 1-3 years' previous legal experience required. Admitted and a member in good standing of at least one state Bar. Ability to research and interpret government (federal, state and local) regulations. Ability to recognize potential for legal problems and devise solutions. Very strong negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of risk management, insurance and claims administration desirable. Ability to communicate with team members and manager. Ability to maintain acceptable standards of office and professional conduct. Ability to get along with others. Ability to handle stress and manage stress in a time-sensitive environment.
