Contracts Manager / Attorney The candidate will work alongside the CEO, Division Vice Presidents, and a group of engineering and architecture professionals to provide in-house support on all contractual matters related to design and construction administration services for all types of projects within portfolio. Will act as an advisor to upper management and the project team on legal requirements and be responsible for preparing and disseminating information regarding contract status, compliance, modification, deviation, and termination. Participate in the analysis of RFPs, prepare contracts and correspondences, assess and evaluate terms and conditions, facilitate contract changes and amendments, document and maintain detailed records associated with changes or amendments that may arise during implementation, ensure all contract and client requirements (bonds, insurances, etc.) are in place and updated, and assist Project Managers with contract negotiation and preparation. Manage a team of Contract Specialists and supervise the entire contract preparation and execution process to ensure effectiveness and efficiency as well as compliance with corporate, contract, and local/state legal requirements. Collaborate with outside counsel when dealing with complex contractual agreements and the defense of any claims or litigations.

The candidate must have Bachelor's Degree and 15+ years of previous experience in a capacity with responsibility for interpreting and advising on contractual law related to construction and/or professional services agreements including teaming agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), contracts, and subcontracts. Juris Doctor Degree or a Master s Degree in Business Administration, Business Law, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field a plus. Should have 5+ years of previous experience coaching, mentoring, and developing a team of contract professionals. Must have previous experience working in an engineering or architecture consulting firm, contractor, law, or other professional services firm setting. Previous experience with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build contracts for facilities/buildings or transportation projects desired. Previous experience utilizing ERP business applications to manage contract and project information; Deltek Vision preferred. Previous experience with employment law, real estate lease agreements, mergers and acquisitions, credit agreements, litigations and claims management, and other types of business legal affairs an advantage. Should have strong working knowledge of architecture/engineering and/or construction industry contracting practices, insurance coverage requirements, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, policies, procedures and work practices. Must have proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Should have ability to apply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills when developing reports and correspondences, participating in project team meetings, and engaging in discussions with client representatives on corporate services and operations.
