International Tax Attorney

International Tax Attorney The candidate will manage the delivery of a full range of international tax services and advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the tax implications of their international operations as well as coordinate U.S. tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy. Supervise all aspects of international tax compliance for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates. Research and consult with clients on tax-efficient structuring of inbound and outbound international transactions, effective use of tax treaties, planning related to offshore investment activities and repatriation programs to minimize US and foreign income taxes of our US-based multinational clients, minimizing worldwide tax burdens on business transactions and operations, and making effective foreign investments. Facilitate client understanding of international tax development implications. Maintain strong client relations and cross-sell services within the assigned group of clients. Work closely with partners, managers, and staff to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development. Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews. Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively. Consult, work with, and service clients to make recommendations on business and process improvements and serve as a business advisor to clients. Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis and stay informed regarding tax changes and issues that could affect clients.

The candidate must have 5+ years of progressive international tax consulting experience. Should have BA degree in Accounting or related field. JD degree is required. LL.M. degree in Taxation is a plus. Experience with a large public accounting firm or large law firm is needed. Knowledge of inbound and outbound taxation is must. Working knowledge of international, estate and gift tax planning is essential. Experience with foreign trust issues including foreign grantor and non-grantor trusts is required. Experience with inbound and outbound transaction consulting, multi-national corporation experience, transfer pricing and foreign tax credit utilization is desired.
