Privacy And Data Governance Counsel

Privacy and Data Governance Counsel Responsibilities: Providing legal advice concerning data privacy and security terms applicable to employee data, IT systems and IT service contracts, including Cloud services, vendor contracts and business partner agreements; Advising on the global data protection regulatory framework, including the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation; Partnering closely with and advising our HR, security, product and other business teams on privacy and data protection-related legal matters, including privacy by design; Evaluating the impact of U.S. and international legislative, regulatory, legal developments and industry guidelines involving privacy and security; Participating in cross-functional company projects related to data protection and privacy by design; Evolving company s global privacy program; Developing innovative solutions to address customer and partner needs.

The candidate should have J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state Bar. Should have 4-6 years of relevant experience, at a law firm or in-house. Experience with or knowledge of U.S. and international privacy and data protection laws, regulations and standards. Superb verbal and written communication skills. Experience advising technology companies on data governance matters including data protection laws and their application to employee data, IT systems, IT service contracts, Cloud services and interest-based advertising. Understanding of the global data protection regulatory framework and the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Experience working with international clients, customers and partners. Track record of driving change initiatives and working cross-functionally.
