Corporate Counsel - Substance Abuse and Mental Health The candidate will report to the Senior Counsel. Will provide legal research, advice and other legal assistance. Assist with the drafting, review and revision of contracts in accordance with the company's legal and business requirements. Draft and revise correspondence and other legal documents. Perform research and analysis of legal matters and drafts memoranda of law. Research relevant statutes, rulings and regulations to be used as a basis for answering requests for legal opinions and company policies. Assist in addressing legal, regulatory and compliance issues. Assist with the drafting of policies and procedures for the company and its affiliates. Assist with compliance monitoring for the Legal department or other business units as requested. Provide counsel to management within the company. Negotiate with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes. Coordinate and manage outside counsel litigation. Maintain complete confidentiality in all matters relating to the Legal department.

The candidate should be a graduate from an ABA accredited law school with a J.D. degree. Should be a member, in good standing, of the California State Bar. Must have 1-3 years of litigation/transactional experience. Prior experience providing support to an in-house legal department or corporate client is preferred. Should have experience of handling projects or tasks which require extreme attention to detail. Familiarity with Westlaw or other legal research databases is preferred.
