Real Estate Legal Counsel The candidate: Provide legal support for the Texas Division in connection with land acquisition and development. Work includes drafting legal transactional real estate documents and preparing land purchase/acquisition contracts. Works closely with Texas Division Executive Team and Land Development group. Conduct title and survey review and perform due diligence on prospective land purchases, prepare and review land purchase/acquisition contracts, and coordinate closings. Prepare and review a variety of general contracts, master consulting and vendor contracts, and retail sales contracts and disclosures, as well as due diligence and contract summary reports. Oversight and monitoring of the Texas Division s Insurance program. Draft, negotiate and review transactional real estate documents, including, among others, letters of intent, purchase agreements, and confidentiality agreements. Review and negotiate partnership and joint venture agreements and close real estate transactions on an as-needed basis. Conduct legal research and assist with additional legal matters and special projects as needed. Law degree and a member of the Texas State Bar is essential. 3+ years of applicable real estate and contract law experience is required. Should have extensive experience in drafting legal transaction documents, conducting due diligence and closings. Must have extensive experience in managing a high volume of real estate transactions and matters, including experience with land acquisition, development, disposition, HOAs, special metropolitan districts, every facet of homebuilding.
