Lending Compliance Attorney The candidate will support the compliance and legal needs of the business units, including mortgage, personal loan, and credit cards. Will perform marketing reviews for compliance with applicable laws. Advises business units on regulatory obligations and recommends solutions that satisfy business objectives and regulatory requirements. Track, monitor and analyze current and pending federal, state and local legislation and regulations. Prepare clearly written analysis of various laws and regulations, agency and investor guidelines, etc. including impact on the business (disclosures, processes, policies and procedure, etc.). Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed. Manage day-to-day compliance issues for the operational staff. Evaluate regulatory controls and looks continuously for ways to improve them. Assist with federal and state examination materials and production. Work with federal and state regulators for clarification as necessary. JD degree from ABA-accredited law school is needed. Should have 3-5 years of consumer lending compliance experience, preferably in an in-house setting (bank or large lender). Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance is needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skill is essential. Very strong interpersonal skills are needed. Strong understanding of consumer lending compliance requirements, in particular TILA, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA and FCRA is needed.
