Litigation Counsel The candidate will be responsible for handling a broad range of litigation and pre-litigation matters relating to firm s role as an insurer, an investor with a substantial portfolio of securities, private equity, real estate, and agricultural investments, and an issuer of securities. Will handle foreclosure, FCRA and other litigation relating to the period of time firm owned and operated a bank, provide litigation advice on cyber-security and privacy issues. Responsible for advising internal clients with respect to risks presented by actual and threatened litigation, managing and resolving those risks, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and business practices which will mitigate risk and better protect the Company. Meeting e-discovery obligations (including managing legal holds and document collections), research and writing, managing outside counsel, developing and executing litigation strategy, budgeting and reviewing outside counsel invoices, advising business clients regarding litigation risks and strategy and developing and presenting related training, negotiating settlements, preparing witnesses for deposition and trial, establishing litigation reserves, and assuring that MetLife meets its disclosure obligations.

The candidate should have a JD degree from accredited law school. Excellent academic credentials needed. Admission to New York and Federal Bar is essential. Should have 4 years of experience reflecting a record of accomplishment. Excellent analytical and organizational skills needed. Extensive ediscovery experience needed. Experience in the following litigation areas strongly preferred in addition to extensive e-discovery experience: securities, cyber-security, privacy and banking.
