Counsel, General Litigation, eDiscovery and Employment Responsibilities : The candidate will be supporting general docket of employment matters involving allegations of employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour compliance, etc. Providing general employment law advice and counsel to HR and business unit clients, including assisting with developing and interpreting corporate employment policies, developing and presenting HR and supervisory training, and coordinating and drafting administrative responses. Supporting general eDiscovery compliance and processes, including by assisting with litigation eDiscovery planning, strategies, and budgets on cases likely to involve significant discovery; working with Managing Counsel to help develop procedures and execute strategies for best practices preservation, sampling, collection, processing, and review. For assigned litigation matters, investigating allegations, preparing and executing evidence gathering plans (including assisting with eDiscovery needs); interviewing witnesses, developing case strategy, managing case budgets, reporting to and advising internal clients; overseeing and directing outside counsel, and conducting internal risk analysis for optimal resolution.

Requirements : The candidate should have JD degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Admitted to the State Bar of Texas or other appropriate jurisdiction or allowed to practice law in Texas through reciprocal agreement 5 years of employment experience with litigation experience preferred. Experience in eDiscovery processes, best practices, and computerized litigation support systems. Prior in-house legal experience or external legal experience representing clients in the oil and gas industry Superior mediation negotiation, advocacy and presentation skills, and mature judgment and discretion Ability to manage and prioritize assignments which may be broad in scope and complexity, and which involve collaborative work with employees within the legal department and in different departments and with varying degrees of seniority Self-initiation on regular and complex assignments and ability to work independently within broadly defined objectives, being able to perform job functions without extensive supervision. Effective utilization and communication with internal support staff including paralegals and administrative staff Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively manage and communicate with internal business unit clients and external with opposing and outside counsel, experts, witnesses and vendors. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Comprehensive analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, planning, evaluation and legal project management skills. Experience with decision tree risk analysis is a plus. Ability to prepare and present clear, concise and persuasive oral/written opinions, reports, correspondence and presentations. Effective use of knowledge and experience in establishing and weighing alternatives for making decisions associated with area of responsibility. Capable of establishing professional credibility with variety of clients and management. Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments. Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions. Candidates for this U.S. position must be a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee, asylee or temporary resident under 8 U.S.C. 1160(a) or 1255(a) (1).
