Contracts Manager/Legal Counsel

Contracts Manager/Legal Counsel The candidate will be reviewing, negotiating and amending RFPs, confidentiality agreements, software licensing and support agreements, cloud agreements and professional services agreements. Will be ensuring assigned deals are progressed and tracked to deadlines. Being able to work independently to resolve challenges and influence stakeholders. Work closely with other business units (e.g. best practice and revenue recognition teams) to ensure contracts comply with accounting rules, BMC global licensing policies, US based laws and regulations (e.g. FCPA and export compliance) and local laws. Provide legal advice and counsel on regional or country-specific legal issues. This includes communicating with regional sales managers and customers as appropriate to ensure compliance and involvement in legal issues and processes. Support the corporate compliance programs, including educating regional employees. Undertake ad-hoc projects as directed by the Head of Legal UK and Ireland or EMEA General Counsel.

The candidate should preferably have Law degree, legal executive or a lawyer qualified in another jurisdiction especially common law jurisdiction. Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts is desirable. Law degrees and/or who are qualified in other jurisdictions are welcome. Basic knowledge of contract and data protection laws is essential. Experience working either in or supporting a sales environment is preferred. Excellent written and verbal presentation skills is preferred. Excellent interpersonal communication skill is preferred.
