Corporate Attorney The candidate will perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Will review of commercial agreements, including NDA s, supply and manufacture agreements, vendor agreements, advertising and promotion agreements, etc. Litigation support, including managing discovery efforts, corresponding with outside counsel, and assisting as otherwise needed. Oversight of the Company s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and licenses. Effectively handles assigned legal activities for business units, functions or legal practice areas (including Human Resources, Finance, IT, and other corporate administrative functions). Identify and analyze existing and emerging legal risks. Develop and implement business-focused strategies to mitigate and manage risks. Assist with the development and implementation of policies, procedures and control mechanisms to promote compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations. Stay abreast of new regulations and emerging legal risks; provide proactive advice and counsel to corporate functions and business units related to the labeling and packaging of Company products. Respond to day-to-day issues and requests presented to the legal department. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. Understand and demonstrate the Company s core values. Perform other duties as assigned. Provide legal guidance to corporate and business unit management. Support General Counsel staff as needed with corporate governance, special projects, litigation management, employment and other general compliance matters. Assist in managing work flow of department. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously (ranging from the routine to the complex), deadlines and initiatives with minimal oversight. Ability to multitask and is comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Quick learner and innovative thinker who is capable of assessing and communicating risk within the context of business-driven goals. Pursues independent development and learning. Communicates in a direct, open and honest manner. Requests and is willing to enthusiastically receive honest and open feedback. Use sound judgment and decision making skills. Outstanding Verbal/Written Communication skills. JD degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in a US state or DC is needed. Should have 3-5 years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or corporate legal department. In-house corporate legal department experience is preferred. Familiarity with the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel) is needed.
