Corporate Counsel Duties: Proactively provide in-house legal counsel and collaborate with business units (including operations functions), as assigned, to facilitate compliance with evolving legal compliance obligations. Advise internal clients with respect to operational compliance. Work closely with internal clients on any remediative measures. This includes preparing the company for examination or investigation by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Requires interpretation of regulations and laws and ability to apply such to the nuanced environment in which we operate. Directly review proposed legislation and regulations on a national basis throughout the legislative season. Assist the SVP and Chief Regulatory Compliance Officer in gathering information responsive to government investigations and other inquiries by gathering information from internal clients responsive to such activity. Handle triage upon receipt of disputes. Manage and respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies, customers and the business community. Conduct regulatory due diligence on acquisitions and summarize for Chief Regulatory Compliance Officer review. Prepare, analyze and review drafts and final copies of legal documents and correspondence within an assigned area and within the scope of developed legal expertise. Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems. Develop strategies to avoid litigation and reduce potential areas of risk. Negotiate and/or approve changes to legal documents requiring an intermediate level of expertise. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: JD degree from an accredited law school required. Licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia. 5+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department; in-house corporate legal department experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in handling regulatory matters; experience with FCRA, GLBA or DPPA is a plus. Experience in the data industry preferred. Analytical and research skills required.
