Corporate Privacy Attorney The candidate will be reporting directly to the Assistant General Counsel. Will help manage and support ongoing initiatives concerning global data protection and privacy law compliance, provide advice and counsel on a variety of data privacy matters, including but not limited to international statutory compliance (e.g., GDPR), and privacy issues pertaining to e-commerce and cloud computing. Work closely with other Legal Department personnel and internal stakeholders in the implementation of strategies, policies, guidelines and procedures regarding employee data, customer data, data retention, privacy, and cyber security compliance. Advise and work on preparation of governmental data protection agency filings. Providing advice and counsel in connection with the development, collection, use, transfer and governance of data, including data analytics, privacy and security, both from a U.S. and international perspective. Regularly engaged in preparation of privacy impact assessments of current or proposed processes, and will advise on data issues in connection with all aspects of the company s business. Advising on compliance practices across all aspects of global privacy and data protection laws and regulation, including consumer data use and sharing, data retention, data security and data breaches. Undertaking responsibility for an evolving privacy program and compliance framework, developing and communicating policies and practices, performing risk assessments, monitoring ongoing compliance in coordination with other compliance and operational assessment functions, and overseeing the intersection of privacy and data security in collaboration with other internal teams. Creatively building upon and driving awareness around privacy and data security issues, including developing and delivering training. Leading data incident response activities, including developing data incident response protocols. Must have a 4-year college degree, Juris Doctor degree, and successful completion of a written Bar examination. Should have 2+ years of experience in Privacy. A Certified Information Privacy Professional certification, preferably either CIPP/E (Europe) or CIPP/US (US private sector) is required.
