Corporate Counsel Duties: Lead the negotiation, drafting and review of contracts with Customers and Partners for the provision of Software, Appliances and Services. Serve as key legal advisor for all business partners across the North Region Provide strategic advice on licensing and services matters and assist the business in structuring complex transactions. Review, localization and drafting of all types of contractual documents, including consulting agreements and responses to proposals. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers and build strong relationships. Provision of training to internal clients on relevant legal issues. Provide support and escalation to other team members on substantive legal issues. Collaborating with EMEA and Global Legal team members on ad hoc projects. Co-ordinate with EMEA colleagues on development and implementation of new contract templates and contract management systems; ensure regional variations and requirements addressed appropriately. Provide regional legal support where applicable on litigation and compliance matters. Provide advice and support to other legal team members on various legal and regulatory matters including, for example, data protection.

Qualifications: UK law degree (or equivalent). Professional qualifications in legal practice (e.g. Legal Practice Course, ILEX, or qualification as a solicitor or barrister). 5+ years proven post qualification experience in commercial or IT law. Self-disciplined, highly organized and able to work without supervision and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines; excellent project management skills. Able to provide accurate, high-quality yet practical and concise legal advice. Flexible and adaptable in a changing and challenging environment; able to think out of the box when unexpected/unplanned events arise. Confident and professional communication, presentation and negotiation skills. Excellent customer focus skills, both internal and external Comfortable working with a multi-site team based around Europe. Sound knowledge and experience in practical application of contract law. Sound working knowledge of commercial, IT/IP law preferably gained in an international environment. Experience in drafting and negotiation of contracts with end users, service providers or other channel partners within a Software vendor environment or other IT industries. IT Literate, with working knowledge of using Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Experience of working in an in-house legal department and researching and advising on a variety of legal issues. Fluent in English. Desirable: Experience and knowledge of relevant laws and legal systems in other jurisdiction(s) in Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Experience in other relevant areas such as data privacy, compliance and/or competition. Interest & knowledge of technology and current trends in software / IT industry. Experience working for US publicly-traded company; understanding of revenue recognition principles, Sarbanes-Oxley etc.
