Corporate Counsel (regulatory)

Corporate Counsel - Regulatory The candidate will represent firm subsidiaries in administrative dockets before the Illinois Commerce Commission ("ICC"). Will support internal clients concerning rate cases pending before the ICC. Counsel clients concerning legal matters affecting state regulated utility operations in Illinois. Supervise and manage outside consultants and attorneys. Represent firm subsidiaries in negotiated proceedings. Represent firm subsidiaries in matters concerning local government ordinances and regulations. Support subsidiaries in assessing legal risks concerning proposed or pending legislation or regulations. JD degree from an accredited law school required. Must be licensed, eligible to practice or able to seek admission in Missouri and/or Illinois. Should have 5+ years of experience in state utility regulatory practice required. Experience working on matters before the Illinois Commerce Commission is preferred. Must be proficient at working on docketed proceedings independently. Must have experience in handling accounting matters related to regulation and rates, rate cases generally, rate design matters, energy efficiency dockets, and/or transmission siting proceedings. Experience pertaining to renewable energy and distributed generation would also be valued. Excellent writing skills is essential.
