Senior Corporate Commercial Counsel

Senior Corporate Commercial Counsel The candidate will draft and negotiating contracts on both the revenue (sales) and procurement (buy) side of the business for FLIR s commercial business segments. Will counsel with a focus on FLIR's commercial contracting. Oversee the contracting process within the designated business segments and regions. Review, markup/draft (from forms and from scratch), negotiate and close commercial contracts, including product supply, distribution, OEM, retailer, dealer, nondisclosure, license, services and procurement agreements; statements of work; licenses; RFP responses; and supporting documents. Provide rapid, practical, business-oriented legal/commercial contract advice directly to business clients. Provide alternative solutions to minimize liability while achieving business goals such as monetizing through licensing deals. Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters. Apply innovative problem-solving skills and practical business judgment to maximize revenues, minimize risk and foster long-term client relationships. Collaborate with and facilitate cross-team decision-making among the Legal team, Finance team, business teams and other internal teams. Assist with legal integration of acquisitions. Manage assigned projects to completion. Assist more senior attorneys and management in higher level matters, as needed. The candidate should have BA or BS. JD degree from an accredited law school. Strong academic performance is needed. Licensed to practice law in a US state or the District of Columbia is essential. Should have 7+ years of relevant experience in a law firm and corporate legal department. Strong, practical experience with negotiating commercial and corporate contracts of all types, and other experience demonstrating ability to handle and close commercial and legal negotiations is essential. Experience in national law firm environment is preferred. In-house corporate legal department experience in a technology-oriented, manufacturing public company or a software company is preferred. Experience across a range of legal disciplines related to hardware (including IP, regulatory, marketing, e-commerce, retail, privacy.) is needed.
