Counsel II - Environmental The candidate will be performing a variety of moderately complex to complex legal matters and executing projects including providing day-to-day advice to the company and its business partners on a range of environmental issues. Will advise and execute environmental permitting/regulatory matters in air, water and waste. Ensures that environmental strategy, policy, and practices are properly established and executed. Coordination with Environmental Affairs, plant personnel and the Law Department. Ensures that legal services provided are cost-effective, practical, and consistent with the company s philosophies. Contributes to and delivers on law department business goals. Ensures that the law department implements leading practices and operates at the highest ethical and governance standards. Review of formal and informal environmental regulatory proposals and advise management regarding legal and technical compliance issues presented by same. Advise and assist business partners as necessary in connection with ongoing compliance with applicable state and federal regulatory and reporting requirements. Helps business partners understand the risks and consequences of the given situation. Effectively communicates the consequences and develops alternatives to manage identified risks. Identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, presents clear recommendations. Represents the company s position before federal, state and local government agencies and regulatory bodies regarding the noted areas of law. Remains current with legal and regulatory developments, best practices and benchmarks in the noted areas of law and assists internal clients in implementing policies and procedures in response thereto. Maintains a culture with a high degree of emphasis on dignity, respect, cooperation and inclusion. Lead complex environmental matters (both statutory and common law) and provide regulatory counseling to engineers, operators and management. Prepares regular summary and update memos and presentations on environmental activities. Provide regulatory counseling, permitting assistance; and interpretations and research regarding statutes, regulations and policies regarding all environmental media (air, water, waste). Drafts, responses to various regulatory agency inquiries and notices. Represents the Company before federal, state, and local environmental regulatory bodies and presents well-written and well-reasoned arguments. Maintains excellent relationship and conducts proactive outreach with environmental regulators and authorities. Prepares documents to support the Company's legal initiatives and interests. Provides legal advice and counsel to Company s corporate staff concerning various environmental issues and areas requiring legal advice for limiting liability and/or risk. Drafts sections of SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K. Provide recommendations on legal and permitting strategies. Trains and educates business units on environmental requirements, standards and guidelines. Promotes activities to foster awareness relating to environmental compliance. Carries out other duties as assigned.

The candidate should have Juris doctor degree and admitted to the Bar in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a reciprocal state, or with the ability to transfer into the bar in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Must have 10 years of concentrated experience which demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and applied understanding of area of expertise; both in house and law firm experience preferred. Demonstrated experience managing outside counsel, including establishing and managing project budgets, preferred.
