Attorney - Real Estate The candidate provides legal guidance and support to right-of-way, operations, and engineering groups related to the acquisition, defense and enforcement of land rights. Works closely with outside counsel and Company representatives on litigation matters related to property damage and easement rights, including reviewing pleadings, preparing and responding to discovery requests, preparing Company representatives for depositions, and in some cases working with outside counsel to prepare for trial. Prepares, reviews and negotiates agreements related to the acquisition and enforcement of right-of-way and easement rights. Assists in the preparation of documents related to eminent domain, including offer letters for the acquisition of real property rights and appraisals. Works closely with outside counsel and Company representatives to prepare for and attend Special Commissioner's Hearings. Works with outside counsel to obtain temporary restraining orders and other injunctive relief necessary to protect Company's land rights. Attends meetings and participates in conference calls with management, including providing periodic status updates on legal matters. Works closely with other Company attorneys to develop and implement legal strategy.

The candidate should be a Graduate of an accredited law school. Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Should have 2-5 years of legal experience. Law firm or internal legal department experience preferred. Experience in eminent domain and/or right-of-way litigation desired. Prior work with pipeline companies and/or utilities is beneficial.
