Employment Attorney The candidate will provide practical legal counsel to Human Resources and business executives on broad range of employment matters on day-to-day employee issues relating to recruiting, hiring, performance management, compensation, wage and hour, leaves of absence, return to work and accommodation issues, benefits, terminations, confidentiality and non-competition agreements, and other global employment-related topics; Review and preparation of employee agreements, performance documentation and separation documents; Conduct, direct or support the conduct of, factual reviews and investigations and responses to agency claims and/or demand letters; Develop, revise and implement employment policies and training solutions; Provide support and thought leadership for EEO and inclusion and diversity initiatives; Represent the company before state and federal agencies, and assist with litigation/arbitrations; Support of Human Resources in respect of vendor agreements and client RFP process; Operate with utmost discretion and confidentiality; Assist with Human Resources-related elements of strategic transactions / acquisitions, including: Due Diligence (with regard to employment-related issues); Negotiation/Drafting of employment-related reps and covenants in M&A deals; Interface with outside M&A and employment counsel on M&A transactions; and Pre/Post-Close Implementation.

The candidate must have 8+ years experience in employment-related laws and regulations with direct counseling experience to business executives, with preference given to experience in: financial services industry; and OFCCP federal contractor / affirmative action legal requirements. Experience with international employment laws is a plus. Should have significant subject matter experience in risk mitigation related to employee-life cycle events (hiring, employee relations, performance management, terminations and workforce reductions). Project management experience is essential. Major law firm experience preferred; and JD degree and member of the New York Bar.
