Corporate Counsel, Compliance and Legal Affairs The candidate will manage and work closely with four-member licensing team to ensure coordination and completion of proper business licensing requirements. Conduct and lead regular Licensing Governance meetings with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate coordination and understanding across the enterprise. Assist with interpretation of jurisdictional licensing requirements; coordinate with internal / outside counsel as needed. Develop and maintain Licensing Governance policies and procedures. Develop/maintain/archive Licensing Governance documentation in the central repository (including the master licensing matrix). Identify, track and resolve licensing and operational risks and control enhancements. Develop and maintain reporting standards, protocols, and packages for compliance with administrative licensing requirements. Prepare and present written reports for executive leadership. Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly departmental reports timely and accurately. Review key issues with business leaders to help determine root cause and implement a solution. Support of internal training, auditing and certain investigations. Strategic thinking, practical problem solving, and cross-functional team interaction. Manage relationships and negotiations with leaders across the organization. Provide legal guidance and support in connection with regulatory examinations. Should have JD degree from an ABA accredited law school. Must have 3+ years of legal and management experience. Experience in the finance, banking, brokerage, foreclosure or debt purchasing/collection industries. Strong knowledge of debt buying and debt collection industries, including but not limited to FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, GLBA and state equivalents. Should preferably have 3-7 years of experience at a financial institution with a background of licensing governance, or closely related compliance or legal responsibilities.
