Senior Counsel-litigation Responsibilities: Provide oversight and strategic direction to outside counsel with respect to the handling of assigned caseload of lawsuits, claims, and subpoenas. Support business partners and company witnesses on matters relating to litigation, including witness interviews, depositions, hearings, and other adversarial proceedings. Represent Conagra Brands in legal, administrative, and regulatory proceedings, as well as in mediations and settlement negotiations. Oversee discovery processes, including e-discovery and legal hold, for assigned caseload; champion the evolution of tools and services. Assist in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within the litigation group and lead efforts to implement process improvement solutions. Advise business partners on dispute resolution, litigation, insurance, regulatory, and risk management among other matters and identify opportunities to provide training. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and other members of the legal department, as well as external partners. Commit to promoting the development of one s own legal and business skills, industry knowledge, and to maintaining an inclusive working environment. The candidate should be Licensed attorney with 8+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or corporate litigation department. Meaningful exposure to a broad range of litigation matters, including commercial, product liability, personal injury, insurance, intellectual property, employment, and regulatory disputes. Some trial experience preferred. Demonstrated case strategy, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Understanding of e-discovery best practices required; hands-on experience with e-discovery software/tools preferred. Must be able to work autonomously in area of responsibility while keeping manager and business partners appropriately informed. Able to manage complex projects within established budgets. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business clients in a collaborative environment to understand and achieve stated business objectives. Professional and effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to think in business scenarios, evaluate and articulate risk on a cost-benefit basis, and propose creative alternative solutions.
