Corporate Counsel

Corporate Counsel The candidate will act with urgency when drafting, negotiating and finalizing contracts, reviewing ICFs and problem solving. Will learn and understand the nature of company's research platforms and clinical compounds to ensure that contracts have an appropriate level of risk management, do not create IP contamination, or get hung up on low-risk issues. Understand and include business partners' needs when negotiating contracts. Listen to business partners to understand the relevant risks and then provide practical legal advice when problem solving. Expand expertise into areas that frequently arise during contract negotiations or as questions from business partners, e.g. healthcare compliance, intellectual property and privacy.

The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry negotiating contracts for all business groups with an emphasis on research, development and commercial contracting. Should have general knowledge and understanding of healthcare compliance laws and regulations. Requires admission to the California Bar. Solid knowledge of core contract provisions is needed.
