Chief Litigation Counsel The candidate will provide support and guidance on broad strategic, policy and administrative issues related to the corporate legal function and the organization as a whole. Handles court proceedings, arbitrations, and pre-litigation claims for the Company, both as claimant and defending party; develops and communicates litigation-related policies and practices; advises executives and other lawyers on key legal and regulatory risks; tracks litigation involving as well as third-party matters to ensure awareness of legal developments from operational, financial, and reputational perspectives; maintains relations with outside counsel, monitors outside counsel spend and diversity metrics, and partners with outside counsel on specific cases to ensure top-quality service that is cost-effective and sensitive to the client s business goals and tolerance for risk; assists businesses in avoiding or resolving disputes before litigation is commenced; assists with profit participation audits, reporting and analysis; and handles investigations and proceedings by U.S. and foreign regulatory and law enforcement agencies. Must have 15+ years of experience in dealing with legal issues to include entertainment, intellectual property, anti-piracy, licensing, and copyright at the State, Federal and International levels. Must have a law degree from a top-tier law school is required and must be a member in good standing of the State Bar of New York and / or California State or a member in good standing of another State Bar and registered as in-house counsel. Should preferably have significant experience as a practicing litigation lawyer, preferably with a global media and entertainment conglomerate or a prominent national law firm representing the entertainment industry. Must have extremely strong legal knowledge and skills as well as superior critical thinking, analytical, drafting, problem-solving and negotiating skills.
