Senior Corporate Counsel, Products The candidate will collaborate with Product and Engineering, Business Development, and InfoSec teams. Will provide legal direction for product development initiatives throughout the software development lifecycle and roadmap, including 'Privacy by Design' principles. Interface with Engineering, Product Management, and Infosec teams. Spearhead company's intellectual property regime (trademarks, patents, and copyrights). Review customer contracts from a privacy and information security perspective. Serve as the subject matter expert on regulatory issues impacting company's product offerings, including impact from domestic and international legal frameworks. Coordinate all aspects of company's engagement with open source technologies (from how company contribute to the open source community to when company includes open source software in products).

The candidate should have a J.D. degree with 8+ years of experience and a membership in good standing of the State Bar of practice. Should have solid privacy and product counseling experience and have documented success in working with technical stakeholders through different phases of product development. Familiarity with general licensing is required. Working knowledge of open source software licensing is strongly preferred. Should have experience managing IP prosecution, product counseling, and transactional experience (with in-house experience strongly preferred). Depth of technical knowledge and experience with innovative software and technologies, data security laws, and regulations with the ability to translate that knowledge across the company and in conversations with customers is required. Should have a strong background in open source software, data protection, and product counseling, particularly in the SaaS space.
