Corporate Counsel Duties: Manage assigned contract management processes, including but not limited to the coordination and finalization of the Customer contractual instrument including the project specifications and budget. Negotiates and prepares contracts and related documents for participation in clinical trials. Revises legal contracting text using Company contracting policy and established fallbacks. Communicates and explains legal issues to internal and external parties per Legal department guidelines. Serves as lead communication liaison between Contracts staff and internal and external Customers. Provides functional guidance and keeps line manager aware of contract statuses and/or pending issues. Evaluates contracts for completeness and accuracy by comparing to Legal department guidelines to determine adherence, and ensures that corrections are appropriately made and documented. Initiates and participates in face-to-face or teleconference Customer meetings for the purpose of expediting the contract negotiation and signing process. Assists with recruiting, mentoring and training of new staff as needed. Manages local external counsel within specified budgetary limits and in line with business and legal management s expectations. Maintains contract templates, study specific files and databases (including SalesForce). Provide strategic advice and counsel on a wide variety of other legal issues including corporate, regulatory, commercial and general legal advice throughout the Company. Must be able to work under tight deadlines and interact with lawyers and business teams globally.

Qualifications: A JD Degree and State Bar admission with 5 years of experience in a major law firm or major in-house legal department. Admission to a state Bar. Experience providing counsel in a highly regulated environment is preferred and familiarity with CRO, CCO pharmaceutical and/or life sciences industry. Strong negotiation skills. Ability to work independently, assemble client resources, meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a multi-functional, international team environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Strong problem-solving, decision-making and risk assessment capabilities.
