Corporate Counsel The candidate will enables SLS to meet its objectives by ensuring that agreements are reviewed and executed in a timely and efficient manner, without undue risk. Will assist on agreement negotiation, drafting, review and analysis; providing legal counsel to Transaction Management and other business teams; and attention to other corporate legal matters. Work collaboratively with Transaction Management, operations and other members of the legal and compliance team to execute transaction agreements in support of realizing our business strategy. Draft, review and comment on agreements from end to end, including acquisition agreements, servicing agreements, securitizations, capital and financing agreements, and other transaction agreements. Work with Sr. Corporate Counsel on various corporate legal matters. Answer day-to-day legal questions involving contract interpretation from business units throughout SLS and its affiliates. Develop and maintain policies and procedures. Ensure completion of agreements and proper storage and tagging in document management system. Other duties or tasks as assigned by management. The candidate should have Law school graduate (JD degree). Must have 3-5 years of corporate and transactional experience as an attorney, preferably in a law firm with commercial contract practice or that in combination with experience at a mortgage or consumer finance company. Must be Licensed to practice law in Colorado or other jurisdiction permitting the practice of law in Colorado under a single client license (to be promptly obtained). Must have experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements in a fast paced environment. Must be highly organized with a high attention to detail and ability to adjust priorities accordingly. Strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required. Knowledge of mortgage servicing operations helpful. Familiarity with or at least comfort in working with financial and accounting concepts is preferred.
