Real Estate Counsel

Real Estate Counsel Duties: Negotiate, draft, administer and coordinate a broad range of real estate matters, including: Commercial/office, industrial, build-to-suit and agricultural leases. Acquisitions and dispositions of commercial, agricultural, industrial and development properties. Easements, licenses and access agreements. Environmental and land use matters. Advise the company on its diverse real estate portfolio, including transaction structuring and strategy, commercial disputes, contract compliance, process improvements, and best practices. Provide general legal support to the affiliated property management, real estate development, and real estate accounting units.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited, top-tier law school. 5-10 years practicing real estate law, with 3+ years at a reputable law firm located in California. 3-5 years practicing real estate law in California. Significant experience with commercial/office leasing is required; landlord representation preferred. Ability to handle all aspects of a real estate sale and purchase from start to finish is required, including title and survey matters. Experience with water rights, environmental matters, zoning issues, mineral rights, subdivision and lot line adjustments, development, entitlement and land use, and reviewing and negotiating easements, licenses and CC&Rs is useful. Demonstrated excellent judgment, common sense and ability to work well with clients. Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written skills required. Ability to provide top-quality, proactive, accurate and effective legal support in a fast-moving environment with minimal supervision.
