Associate General Counsel - Corporate The candidate will report to the Head of the Corporate Law Department and Assistant General Counsel. Will have primary responsibility for drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts and advising the leadership team of the company's Global Business Services (GBS) organization. Also responsible for providing counsel to the Foundation and in other substantive areas as needed. Draft, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts, including procurement, business processing outsourcing, IT (including licensing), general consulting and services, marketing and other agreements. Provide counsel to the company's Global Business Services organization. Provide support to the company's Real Estate group, including leasing, transactions and other agreements. Provide support to the Foundation as needed. Assist in other substantive legal areas and work with members of Legal leadership, attorneys and staff on departmental matters as needed. Provide thoughtful, creative and timely legal advice to various BSC business units. Work collaboratively with a broad range of people, developing and maintaining strong relationships between the Law Department and business units. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. Should also have a J.D. degree from a top tier undergraduate and law school. Must have 7+ years as a practicing attorney with experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and advising on general commercial matters, including experience at a top tier law firm. In house experience preferred. Experience in health care also preferred. Should be a member of the California State Bar, or having the qualifications and willingness to sit for (and pass) the California Bar exam or qualifications for registration under the California State Bar in-house counsel program.
