Manager, Privacy Counsel

Manager, Privacy Counsel The candidate will focus on conducting in-house privacy counseling and supporting the ongoing development and maintenance of the global compliance program with the Senior Director and SVP as more particularly described below: Advise business regarding data collection, use and management in compliance with applicable policies, legal requirements and industry best practice, with a particular focus on IT infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Human Resources and other internal functions. Conduct privacy impact assessments and work with cross-functional teams to instill privacy by design compliance into products and initiatives. Assist with drafting, review, and updates to various Privacy notices, Privacy policies, and business unit procedures. Support vendor management processes and negotiate and draft privacy and security provisions for vendor agreements. Support data incident response program including investigation, reporting and remediation. Participate in internal audit processes and support management of regulatory inquiries. Conduct legal research and monitor pending legislation and regulations. Assist with development of training materials and presentations. Perform other duties as required. The candidate should have Juris Doctorate. Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field is needed. Member of California Bar or other U.S. state bar is required. CIPP certification strongly preferred. Prior in-house experience, preferably in a global organization is preferred. Should have strong academic record from top tier law school. Must have experience working with technical architecture, web applications and/or software products. Experience: 3+ years of experience as an attorney. 2+ years of experience in privacy compliance. Ability: Ability to research, interpret, analyze and apply complex legal and regulatory requirements. Ability to prepare and maintain policy and procedure documentation. Ability to understand technology driven projects and complex data flows. Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves. Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity. Should have strong written and verbal communication skills.
